Michael Parsons was brought up in Farley. After serving in the army during the Second World War and then completing a university degree he worked as a farm manager on farms in southern England before joining the government’s agricultural advisory service.
A Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors his experience included a varied range of responsibilities during the course of a career in government service concerned with agriculture and forestry in England.
After retiring he combined the resources of local and family history to produce the portfolio of monographs presented on these web-pages. He lived at the edge of the New Forest until his death at the end of 2013.
